Huh?

I think that this is how I feel most of the day...as I am always in a state of "huh"? As an artist I am always trying to stay focused and I am interrupted at least a billion(ok...maybe not that many) times a day! I would like at least 20 minutes please!!!!!! And if you o not leave now my face will explode!!!!

50th head!!!

So a little while back I started this blog in a effort to get the daily sketch thing a habit. I have learned a lot in these first 50 heads:) I also have done quite a few poses as well but I wanted the heads to be the focus. This will be the first of many milestones to come but there will only be one "first fifty"!

I had about 10 minutes for this piece and cranked it out. I am starting to use these exercises to de-stress. Throughout my day I am asked to do soooooo many different things that these are my constant:)))

I love characters. I also love to read. There are so many character artists out there that I admire and love to emulate. The attached pose is referenced form a character design created by  David Coleman. So here is my morning post. I will be doing a Halloween illustration featuring the head less horseman. For some reason I have always equated this scary story of Sleepy Hollow with the fall season of my youth. I will post the finished piece when complete:)

I had this teacher in third grade...named MRs. Gautreaux. She had these cat eye looking glasses and a very interesting head shape...I thing she had a wandering eye...probably an alien. This is what she looked like.

Did this on my tablet. I had a moment and decided to try something new. I used a program called sketchbook pro for IOS. I used the jot pro by intuit(non pressure pen). It works pretty good...I guess I would have to get used to it.

Mid afternoon post!!! Car salesman at lunch:)))

So many times I have found myself stuck on a drawing with no way out. I am so glad that I started sketching again:)))) Keeps my eye on the prize. this is my car salesman character again. Enjoy!

So I am mixing it up a little. This is a fish that I sketched up and went to a more rendered paint. this is about 35 minutes in Manga and photoshop:) Enjoy!
