Traditional marker on Bristol. I have been using a Cintiq and manga studio pro so going prisma marker is quite the change up....love the change though!

Duck Dynasty!

I am currently developing art for Duck Dynasty. This was a concept that was loved but was already in development by another artist. I might just finish it as a portfolio piece.

It has been a long weekend and a poop Tuesday. Go figure! This is how I felt.

Mural three wrapped!!

Here is the third mural completed for Flirida hospital. Same mural different location. This one done in Port Orange. Next one in Tampa. I had to endure 98 degree heat on this one... Not good. Still..22 hrs later and we have this:) sketched in prismacolor pencil and painted in acrylics. Murals rock!

Character sketch...style emulation.

Here is today's post. Once again I look to mold my style and emulate those that can make me a better artist. Bret Bean is that artist. His style and sense of character is one of the best out there. I love his line and flow as well as color sense. So I add this to my own. This is of course Mr. Potter...from a different view:) Enjoy!

Late night gesture drawings

So I have been on a quest. It is a quest to get better at everything I do. The gesture drawing has always been my "go to" exercise that keeps my drawing and observation skills working at their peak. These are just a few of those exercises.

Design...

My position as an illustrator has always been in me. However...my graphic design side has also been something that I have developed over the years. It seems that is this day and age of being an artist that one must have a solid grasp of multiple artistic realms if success is something that is desired. I am an illustrator by default and everything else out of necessity. Here is a piece of expression.

This is a piece based on another piece by my favorite artist Bret Bean. His style and character drawings are nothing short of incredible. I will absorb and process his style into my own. As well as about 30 other artists! Anyway...more to come!

New art post...

Starting to put more onto the work. I am always looking to improve and find new ways of doing things. This is part of a larger project. I have here the sketch...tone...and color study. The final rendering will be much more detailed. I am also working on a new story for a kids ebook. New doors...always good.
